This turntable does exactly what it's supposed to do. However, I don't like the fact you must download iTunes to be able to use it. Why couldn't it just copy to your hard drive
Strengths: This unit offers sturdy construction, an appealing look with excellent transfer software, and a dust cover.
Weakness: It has only the basic operating controls.
From the moment I installed the software and plugged it into my computer, it changed the way I listen to my old records. The transfer software really reduces the noise caused by years of use and damage from accidental mistreatment. I'm now enjoying music that I love from years past with much improved quality, and one CDR holds 10 hours of music!
Strengths: I like the turntable a lot. It came with a cover, buttons to push to raise and lower the arm and the best feature/strength is that when the arm reaches the end of record it returns.
Weakness: No weaknesses that I can detect
The Ion ITTUSB05 USB Turntable w/ RCA Output performs very well for my use. For the price I feel I got a great buy. It is feature rich with cover, 33 and 45 speeds, raise and lower tonearm and auto shut off. I haven't tried to replace the needle yet. Audacity software works well and makes it easy to filter out "snap-crackle-and pops" from records.

Good value for the money
Strengths: Inexpensive and does the job, but one needs to read the instructions
Weakness: Instructions could be clearer.
The ION TTUSB05 works well and easy to use with very little setup hassle if you follow the instructions. If you simply want to record your records to a computer, this does the job. There is no feedback, no grounding issues and quality is pretty good. The all plastic turntable is lightweight as far as quality feel, but what can you expect for less than $100?
