Summary
Product Title: Casio PX-100 Privia 88-Key Digital Piano
Manufacturer: Casio
Power Score: 4.6 | 4 Reviews
Strengths: Weighted keys feel very realistic, and have a nice response.
Weakness: Does not fit as easily onto a keyboard stand, and Casio's special stand is expensive. Also, it doesn't have a digital audio output.
This digital piano looks, feels, and sounds great. When we were looking to buy a keyboard, we compared this against the rest of the items in the stores, and it knocked their socks off. Granted, there wasn't much competition - the rest were mainly keyboards, some with touch-sensitive keys - but it simply felt much more realistic. Strengths: Sounds and really feels like a real piano. True weighted keys -- where the high notes feel lighter and the low notes feel heavier.
Weakness: Not a lot of bells and whistles.
I considered getting the Privia 500 for the lighted keys -- I tried them in the store and they were a lot of fun, but I thought that might get old after awhile. At the end of the day, what I really wanted was a piano-replacement keyboard. This was much lower cost and still feels the same -- and is very light -- so I can move it on my own.
Strengths: Affordable, Good sound, easy to carry around
Weakness: power cord looks cheap, Keys are a little heavy
I am just starting to learn piano. For me, this piano meets all my requirements for a beginner instrument.88 weighted keys and midi capability. If you live in a apartment and have a tight barget, this is the way to go. I cannt comment on the sound quality since this is the first piano I owned, but for me it is good. The overall instrument is well built.
Little monster
Strengths: A steal for the price. Decent touch for the weighted keys, and great sounds. Easy to transport. Nice included music scores library.
Weakness: No LCD screen.
I had a Yamaha D505 before decided to get a keyboard more like the feel of a piano. I read reviews and this model was recommended. Actually the Casio Privia series are all about the same with regard to its feel and sounds. The hammer action keys definitely give you a real piano feeling, and the sound is very decent. Someone complained that the speakers are kinda weak to fill a room, well I don't...
